Bob Holtzmann commented on M Jackson Ford's blog post 'Question on layer states'
Views are easy to set up, so it is best to go with that method. Just name the View for a specific part of your drawing (with set layer/class visibilities, zoom area, and so on), and you can always go back to it. To make it even more accessible,…

I am not sure if you are using the Navigation Palette (Windows>Palettes) but from this you can select the Saved Views tab and then quickly jump your different layer states..

yes, that's what i mean -- some off, some on, some grey -- but in different combinations without having to set each layer ever time.

M Jackson Ford replied to Robert Swinburne's discussion 'Vectorworks or Revit' in the group Architects
Hi Robert: I have experience with both, but my bias toward Vectorworks will prevent me from being fair. In short, Revit CANNOT produce 2d drawings (which, unfortunately, are still required) at any reasonable quality that matches Vectorworks. If it…

Stop light symbol from showing up in rendering after render, but keep light

After I do final quality rendering of a scene with light objects, the light objects show up as black and white icons in the rendering. How do I turn these off without turning off the light?

Thanks!

Question on layer states

Other than remembering views, is there an easy way to save and recall layer states?? I have a drawing with a large number of layers, and I want to quickly go back and forth between different states. Is saved views the answer, or is there something better? thanks!
