On my way

Derailed for the time being from the BIM side of vectorworks I have been working on a single line drawing of a building here on campus. All went well and in fact I have finished this and moved on to editing it for our conference services department. Like I said all has gone well but there is one hiccup here. I have a symbol that shows up on my drawing layer but not in my viewport. Here is what I have checked:Visibility of the Class is turned onLayer is visible.Symbol is on correct layer Here are…See More

Vectorworks Newbie Issue 4

To All,I am going to go on a rant for just one moment here. It is incredibly important to me to produce an end product that is free of errors. I think most of us would agree that we work very hard to elevate the standards of our work on each project that we touch. This being said.... I have been trying to work through the getting started guides provided to me with the software....Key word trying....I am not sure how this document ever made it out the door. With grammar and spell check options…See More

Oh my, it hasn't been that long and I no longer have any hair. Literally I feel as though I have been blasted over the head at the end of each day. I am having such difficulty figuring out this software. I thought I had my stories set up and that the walls would be contingent on the heights set within the story. Not working out that way! (1 Hour Earlier)I have just placed a wall object...Joy and excitement have filled me to the core. The process of developing a 3D model in vectorworks is on its…See More

Vectorworks Finally Installed

Okay, I have the software installed- official version.

I have started setting up my drawing. I will be teaching myself so I started with something that I would just be recreating. I found a set of drawings for one of the buildings here on campus and started to get to work. I set up my paper size, scale, units, smart cursor, layers, stories, some classes and started to layout the foundation of my building or so I thought.

Perhaps it is because I am new to this but I am looking…
