"Hi Daniel, If you have renderworks then you can apply a texture or create a texture from an image to represent the ceramic tile on the wall in 3D. If you do not have renderworks or just drawing in 2D the next best option would be to use a tile or…"

"You can just start running the walls, in fact you may not even need a floor. If I were doing only a plan view and it's a single story apartment you don't really need a floor unless you wanted to show textures i.e. tile in a bathroom.…"

"It's a lot more versatile to do plans on the Design Layer and then with just a click on Create Viewport they are pasted onto a Sheet Layer where you have easier access to printing options. For example I just did a design for some cabinets,…"

I originally thought that one should draft plans directly on to a Sheet Layer. But now it seems that it is desirable to draft them on to a Design Layer, then create viewports on the Sheet Layer. This seems to apply to at least some text as well. Do I have this right?See More

Beginning VW & Classes

Just starting out in VW 2012. Happened to find space planning tool, used it for study. Didn't know it existed. Also reading manuals. Question: how many Classes is normal for a VW drawing? Are the Classes equivalent to the other cad program's layers?
