Great use of line lights and textures! You can really feel the mood of the venue!

well, i originally went for a textured seating area, full wedding party and fatter pattern on the screen, but the client needed a shot that emphasized the torches and camera placement so this is actually a little more focused, and less realistic, and more pleasing to the eye,

so the only units actually on in this shot are the two on the couple. the ambient purple is general ambient and a cooler color that it looks because the space is a warm tan, short of peach

the texture that actually would light the seats is rear and way off to the sides for programs and finding seats, a large organic version of what ended up on the screen for this shot

the end result is really a focus on the water/candle feature, with line-lights for wicks--yeah it slows it down, but it really works and as long as you don't exceed this number of candles, and don't mind making a sandwich while it renders-it is worth it

did that answer it?

Very nice wedding vibe! Can you say something about your lighting process/approach here?

no no. they're fully formed cones in a glass texture, hollowed with a filled cone of glass texture inside representing water with anatomically correct votives. the camera guys are image props.
i can ask about the glass cones if you're interested. i luckily don't have to order them for this event.
back drop is a white screen with plans for a Hippo and projectors. She said, she said she wanted an organic texture for this shot.

thanks for the love!!!

Who manufactures the torcheres? Looks like an inverted, truncated cone of translucent purple fabric with votive candles (image props with a low intensity point light?)?

What is the backdrop?

they're my fave part! I can't wait to see if they look like that in person. The bride said that is exactly what they are supposed to turn out like :)

love the torcheres.
