I recently upgraded from VW 11 to 2010, and having a heck of a time adapting. I'm trying to use viewports to create elevations from my floor plan. For my elevations, I want the windows to be 'opaque' so they don't show objects behind them, and also so I can add brick hatches to my exterior walls. I have tried editing the windows(PIO's) to have a solid fill and no luck. It's not just the glass, but also the trim and muntins that are transparent. I have everything I can think of filled with a solid white color, including 'style' classes and no luck.

I must be missing something simple. In VW 11 I would just draw a white rectangle the size of the opening and send it behind the window to 'knock out' the brick hatch. Was hoping this is not still the only way.

Thanks for any insights.

1. In the View tab of the window PIO Settings dialog, change the Glazing to "Style-Glazing 1." (You'll need to do this for each window)

2. In the Organization dialog, change the Style-Glazing 1 "Other" texture to "Clear" (default material created by window PIO.)

3. Create a new, opaque texture with dark gray color. Name it "Glazing-Elevation."

3. Select your elevation SLVP. Edit the Style-Glazing 1 class for the VP and change the "Other" texture to Glazing-Elevation.

4. Update the VP.
