Ok, so I'm drawing a wall and want to add a texture to said wall. I have tried the texture editing in the "Obj. info" window, the carpet worked great but the walls all i can see of the texture is the top and end of the wall not the wall itself. I know that the texture is there but not showing on the over all wall. What am I missing?
attached is the file
Thanks ya'll

I've done this on a project before with viewports. My solution was to go into the Annotation layer of the viewport, and draw 2D polygons as opaque masks over the elevations. The polygons had a hatch pattern representing 6" horizontal siding. The solution worked until windows and doors got moved.... then I had to get into the viewports to reshape the polygons.

Eventually, I found a wall texture that matched the siding, so I did not need to draw hatched polygons anymore.
1. Yes

2. Viewports will always update automatically and if the elevations are 2D then all hatches and patterns will update. If you are generating elevations from a 3D model then a texture solution has to be found (as Bob has pointed out)

As an addendum to my previous. You could always apply a hatch to a rectangle, choose the 'None' option for the line and then export the hatch as an image using the Marquee option. Bring the resultant image in as a new texture via the resource browser. Its not a perfect solution but may get nearer your goal.

Ok,
So here we go again... It worked for a bit, but as you can see by the file it's not taking again. Do I need to go through the list in the OI? As you can see it works in some places, but for the most part it doesn't take.
Again attached is the file. And if I am a dufass I have no problem being told so...
Thanks

glad to see a sense of humor... thanks
Mark

Your walls are not 'taking' because when you select them you will see the 'None' fill option is enabled in the Attributes Palette.

Select the wall/s and then change the fill option in the Attributes palette to 'Solid'

The jury are coming out and they don't look happy......!

Nick
OK.... Thanks, and I hear that English juries are far worse than US juries... Plus they get to wear those awesome wigs! Thanks for the help and the laugh.....
