Hi,
I might have to change my MacBook Pro (pre-unibody) and I would of course like to get a unibody MacBook Pro. But it lacks the internal numpad without which I can't work with Vectorworks. I travel a lot so an external keyboard sounds like a very bad idea to me.
Does anybody have a solution to that?

Hi,
I solved this installing KeyRemap4MacBook. It works and now I can use the same keys I used on my PowerBook on my Unibody to simulate numpad.
Great tip Lorenza,

Just let me add the link http://pqrs.org/macosx/keyremap4macbook/
you can use an iphone if you have one http://www.mobilewhack.com/numberkey-iphone-application/ I have this and it works really well. otherwise, you can visit an electoronics store (dick smith, radio shack) and purchase a usb keypad.
The iPhone would be a solution, but the touch doesn't feel like buttons, so using it blindly won't really work.
I guess the KeyRemap4MacBook will have to do. Thanks for the tip.
Hi there,

I know this discussion happened way back in April, but I'm fairly new and I've only just come across your question. I know you don't like external keyboards, but you did say you liked the iPhone idea. So I thought this might appeal to you. I have just seen an external bluetooth keypad (with an LCD display of it's own) on the Apple website. It has buttons just like a full Mac keyboard. It's an exact copy of the number pad with the extra buttons to make it a calculator. It has the buttons, which you can feel and use blindly. I think it's way cool, and I'll be looking to get one in the near future. I have a uni-body Mac Book Pro. I think this would be an ideal solution.
