Generating a report issue

I've been mulling this question on another forum and seem to have come up blank. Here's my task:

I have generated a bunch of 3d rectangles and placed them in various spots about a set I'm designing. These rectangles represent graphics that are printed and applied to the set.

I would like to generate a report that gives back information about these rectangles, particularly their width and length.

However, when I try to do this, the data I'm being given back seems to change with the 3d rectangles' orientation about the z' axis.

Is this a bug? Or am I missing something obvious?
