I was wondering if it is possible to export a Viewport as a DWG?

I work on plans in 2 and 3d and add text and dimensions as annotations in Viewports so as not to clutter my plans.  I need to send consultants my plans as DWGs and wanted to know if this is possible?

In addition can someone please recommend a link to a roof building tutorial

Thank you

Which version/module of VW and which type of Viewport?

Steven

VW 2010 and a page with section and plan viewport...
Export the SHEET the viewport is on as a dwg. Just follow the choices. Find out what version your engineer is using and use that or one version earlier as the default for yout file save.  Secondly, watch our for your liability in them using the plans you draw, or modifying them. If they just need a drawing over which to lay their designs, use a pdf they can add as a reference but is not modifiable.
Also, look at the Nemetschek knowledge base articles and the tech forum over there for help with your roofs. Or post a specific question here. Roofs are funny, frustrating to start with, then simple once you grasp their logic, then frustrating when you try to go "fancy".

The Sheet Layer Viewport will export if you tick the 'Export Viewports as 2D Graphics' option.

Regarding Roofs, Jonathan Pickup has a tutorial for complex roofs, apparently, though you can achieve quite a lot by importing sketchup into later versions of VW.

Can you import sketchup to VW 2011 and if so how?

Take a look at

skip to 2:20 mins to the import bit.

VW2011 imports SketchUp 7, I think.

yes. also if you use viewports for elevations, use the section viewport tool to make elevations of your model.
